As a home school mom, I understand the need to have a program that is complete and that makes the most use of your time.
It is my desire that you will prayerfully consider your participation in this group. I have been teaching music continually for the past 25 years. I love children and understand the need for affordable and quality musical training. With piano lessons alone costing around $200/month I think you will find this program a welcome financial relief as well.
Your children are gifts of the Lord and we take our responsibility with them very seriously. As they learn to play and sing on the highest level, we will also be instilling in them the importance and power of music in their lives. It is a goal of ours to help them to recognize how influential their listening choices can be in their lives and to help them make right choices. This will be instilled in each class period, each week. What they choose to listen to can effect their behavior, their language and even their relationship with you, their parents. It is so important that they learn to make wise choices in this area. We can all remember the song... ."Be careful little ears what you hear."
Explorers in Music:
Our Explorers in Music Program is divided into three ability levels. Each level includes music theory, chorus, vocal training, rhythmic studies, hymn analysis, Bible memory verses and character training. Basic classes take place from 1:00-3:00pm on Wednesdays or Thursdays in Boca Raton. Tuition may be paid by the semester or by the month.
Applied Classes:
The second part of our program is our Applied Classes. These are instrument classes where the student can "apply" their musical knowlege to learning to play an instrument. The classes range from beginner to advanced. All applied classes take place from 3:15-4:15pm.
Our curriculum is written especially for the homeschooling family and takes into consideration the need for character training and also the Biblical basis for musical study. We are also adding to our video piano/theory lesson library. Very soon we will have videos online for all the lessons in your child's piano and theory books. If you would like to work ahead then you may do that. If you need to spend more time understanding a concept then that option is there as well. I know and understand that many parent are not music readers so the lessons are designed so that you may help your child and learn along side of them.
