About our program....
For many years parents have understood that musical education teaches much more than just music, for instance they also learn diligence and persistence. The Explorations in Music program has been developed to give your child a well rounded musical experience but to also give them a well rounded character.
In addition to their musical studies each week, they will memorize five Bible verses, study one hymn, learn to present the message of salvation to the lost and have lessons in character development. They will need parental guidance and encouragement in these areas to get the most from their time as Explorers. To this end, there are also weekly forms for parents to help guide and instruct their children at home.
I have developed a curriculum specifically for Covenant that will ensure both you and your child know exactly what will be done exch week. It is divided into weekly units. Each contains the following:

Two parts of the program....
Our program has two parts. The first is what we call the "Explorers in Music" program. It includes all the basics of music at three different levels. Your level will depend on how you do on a short note naming test that we will present to you on your first day.
The second part is the "applied music" program which consists of instrumental music classes.
1. Explorers in Music Program...
The Explorers in Music classes are divided into three different ability levels. Classes included are:

Handbell Choir (Boca Raton ONLY)
Bible Memory Verses
Character Training
Hope for Kids training (Kids Evangelism Explosion)
2. APPLIED MUSIC CLASSES.....
New this year is the "Applied Music" option. Applied Music is "applying" what they have learned to an instrument class. We will be offering the following instrument classes this year:
Flute Class
Guitar Class
Violin Class (Level I/Level II)
Voice Class
Electronic Music Class
Organ Class (Boca Raton only)

All Explorers in Music classes Meet from 1:00-4:00pm
All Applied Instrument Classes Meet from 4:15-5:15

This change will enable us to have bells, organ and all classes at both locations. Also note that we have extended the time of the Explorers class from 1-4pm. This is the same time schedule that we used last year. The Applies Instrument Classes will meet 4:15-5:15. When you sign up you are more than welcome to attend both days.
